Race #7 HM_Williams Grove Quick time: Jeremy, 19.087 Heat Race #1: Jeremy Heat Race #2: Z-Rocket A Main: Smokinstewart The Thunder on Dirt series presented by Back Pocket sim racing rolled in to Mechanicsburg, PA to attack the next event on the series. Arriving at a monster ½ mile with lots of history, HM_Williams Grove has been site of some great local racing events, but Wednesday night would see one for the history books of great races. The event would see 13 cars from all over coming to compete. After a couple of hot lap sessions the drivers were ready to take time trials. Jeremy fresh off a great win at Cowtown the week before, came out and set a smokin fast time with a 19.087. Z-Rocket would qualify second quickest, followed by Wheelracer, Slopland, and Tapper for the top five quick times. Heat race number one would see Jeremy and Wheelracer bring the field to the drop of the green. Jeremy would take charge in turn one and not look back leading all 12 laps of the heat race. Wheelrace would have no trouble heading up in the runner up spot, but the big battle on the track was between Tapper and ARkansaw passing back and fourth till the final laps with Tapper coming home third and ARkansaw finishing fourth. T-Bone rounded out the top five. Heat race number two would see Z-Rocket and Slopland starting on the front row. As the field took the green the race was on. Z-Rocket, Slopland, and Smokinstewart would battle the most of the race sometimes three wide, but a late caution would see Stewart go the the back of the field. Still with a good car Smokinstewart would race back to the front with very few laps left, but it wasn’t enough to catch Z-Rocket who would lead ten of twelve laps and take the win. Stewart would finish second followed by Teaspoon, brdlyrcr3, and Slopland. The thirty-five lap A main would see Jeremy and Z-Rocket pace the field to the drop of the green flag. All of the fans were on their feet as the green waved. Jeremy took the lead going off into turn one with Z-rocket and Smokinstewart hot on his tail. The three would battle the whole race but, as the race laps counted down Smokinstewart would pass Jeremy for the race lead and have just enough to hold them off for his fourth win of the season. Jeremy would come home second followed by Z-Rocket in third, Slopland the hard charger of the race finished fourth after starting tenth, and ARkansaw would round out the top five. Smokinstewart was asked after the race about his success this season on the dirt and he commented “ I just love to race, no matter what kind of car I land in.” ;
SmokinStewart Wins COT Tues Championship. After a long hard run in the COT Tues.Series, SmokinStewart comes out on top with a close second in the points by Slopland and 3rd place goes to Arkansaw with 4th belonging to Teaspoon and the 5th place going to Sox. Also in last nights race SmokinStewart took the checkerd at Homestead with Wheelracer taking the checkerd in the 2nd race at Chicagoland Speedway.
As the fans packed into cowtown speedway, the hype was in the air, as you could hear the thunder from the practice sessions on the track. Some of the top guns were in the pits ready to do battle, with the likes of Z-Rocket, Jeremy, Ken, Tapper, Smokinstewart, and many others. Smokinstewart who has been hot the past few weeks, was looking for his third win in a row in the Thunder In The Dirt series presented by BackPocketRacing.org. After the hot lap practice sessions the field was ready to hit the track for time trials.
As the fans watched from the stands, to see the 10 car entry field take times, many cheered as Jeremy took quick time with a 10.223, which was just enough to edge out the other top 5 qualifiers as times were very close. Ken, Z-Rocket, Wheelracer, and Smokinstewart rounded out the top 5 qualifying times.
Heat race number one would see Jeremy and Z-Rocket lead the field to the green flag. Jeremy would grab the lead on lap one and not look back although, Z-Rocket and Smokinstewart were on his back bumper the whole 15 laps of the heat race.
Heat race number two would feature Ken and Wheelracer bringing the field to the green flag. Ken would grab the lead on lap one and roll on to lead all 15 laps, followed by Wheelracer, T-Bone, ARkansaw, and Paul.
The A main would see 65 laps of mud slinging racing action, with Jeremy and Ken to bring the field to the green flag. Jeremy would jump out to the early lead with Z-Rocket and Ken close on his tail. Within a few laps Jeremy was under a lot of heat from Z-Rocket, then a caution flag waved. As the field went back to green, Jeremy and Z-Rocket were back to battle, with Z-Rocket to take over the lead a few laps latter and set sail toward laped cars. Another caution would bunch the field back together with Z-Rocket leading and Jeremy in second. When the green flew going into turn one Z-Rocket would catch a tire in the turn and spin in front of the field, droping him to last place, and seeing Jeremy take over the lead. From there Jeremy would not look back heading to the checkered flag and winning the sixth race of the season at cowtown speedway and taking over the points lead. Z-Rocket would race his way through the field with ten laps to go and finish second, Ken would come home third. Wheelracer would finish fourth, and the hard charger of the night would finish 5th, coming from the 8th starting position was ARkansaw. Smokinstewart, T-Bone, Ragingcroc, Paul, and Tapper would round out the top ten.....

Tonight’s racing evening would see 12 cars show up to battle at the fast high banked RPM Speedway. This being the 5th race of the season it was the midseason points championship, and there were a lot of twist to be thrown at the drivers for the event. First up was time trials for the evenings heat race line ups. Jeremy_BPR had problems the past week and was looking to make up for it as he brought his number two entry out on the track and took fast time with a 10.927, smokinstewart05_BPR qualified second quickest with a time of 10.971, Ragincroc, T-Bone_BPR, and Robert_BPR rounded out the top 5 qualifying times.
The first twist of the night saw the top two qualifiers inverted to the 3rd starting positions in the heat races. Heat race one would see Jeremy_BPR dominate leading all 15 laps. Points leader Tapper_BPR would finish second, with Robert_BPR, Ken_BPR, and Ragincroc rounding out the top 5.
Heat race number 2 would see Smokinstewart05_BPR come from behind to speed into victory lane after being caught up in an early incident pushing him to last place. Slopland_BPR would finish second, with ARkansaw72, Wheelracer_BPR, and T-Bone_BPR rounding out the top 5.
The A main would see 10 out of 12 cars to take the green flag. With Tapper_BPR and Ken_BPR starting on the fron row cause in the midseason points race the top two start the front row of the A main. Ken_BPR would jump to and early lead for the first 3 laps, then smokinstewart05_BPR would take over from there and lead 57 of the 60 lap feature. Robert_BPR would come home in the 2nd position. The hard charger of the race was Wheelracer_BPR starting 8th and finishing 3rd. Tapper_BPR would finish 4th and retain his points lead and capture the midseason points championship. Jeremy_BPR would round out the top 5, he had the car to beat but, got caught up in some early wrecks and had to run up from the back of the pack twice to finish 5th. When the racing was over at RPM, there were many new out looks on the points race for the season with the top 5 still very close in contention for the championship, shaping up to be one heck of a season.
